Javanese is the official language in Special Region Yogyakarta, Central and Eastern Islands of Java. Recognized minority language in the western coast of Java, Malasia, Suriname, Netherlands, Banten and New Caledonia. It is the local dialect of more than 98 million individuals. Neighboring languages of Javanese are Sundanese, Madurese and Balinese. Javanese belongs to Austronesian language family of Malayo-Polynesian group. Old Javanese is the early form of present Javanese. Latin script, Arabic script and Javanese script are the writing system of Javanese.
